Our Philosophy

Every notary public is responsible for learning how to notarize correctly. In our notary classes we teach and advocate principles of notary law, not "hand-me-down" traditions heard on the grapevine. That's folklore and it can be dangerously misleading.

If we can not substantiate our teaching with state notary laws or common law, we don't teach it.  Give a notary the basic correct principles of notary law, and that notary will have boundless capacity for problem solving and competent service.

He is considered America's leading authority on notary law and procedure, Peter Van Alstyne authored two nationally acclaimed notary reference books:Van Alstyne's Notary Public Encyclopedia and Notary Law, Procedures & Ethics. In 1989 he received the prestigious National Notary Achievement Award from the National Notary Association and has been a featured speaker at the American Society of Notaries annual conference.
